Big Things are Happening!
My boy is walking. My BOY is WALKING! MY BABY BOY IS WALKING!!
I cannot believe it myself! The twins are now 10 months old and sweet little Donny took his first steps on October 19! His grandpa was here to witness it. He'd been standing up and trying to take a step for quite some time, but all of a sudden, he just DID it! He took off and hasn't stopped walking yet!
Olivia, on the other hand, hasn't quite mastered walking just yet. She can stand up by herself, but can only manage to get her right leg to move. The result is her turning in a circle, kind of pivoting. It's the funniest, cutest thing I've ever seen. I am so blessed, and my cup truly runneth over!
We've been pretty busy lately, which is why I haven't gotten to blog much, but I'll try and catch up now:
Grandma came to visit at the beginning of October, and we went and picked pumpkins! The babies had a blast hunting for the perfect ones, and Little Donny even dove head-first into the patch to pick his! He had a few scratches on his face, but was otherwise unphased.
Grandpa came for a visit 2 weeks after Grandma, and we had such a good time with him! Of course, the highlight of his visit was seeing Baby Donny walk, but it was nice to relax and soak up the Grampa-Love! the babies also got to see their very first Auburn football game! Auburn played Arkansas, and WON!! The Holloway Twins must've been the Tigers' good luck charm that night!
Also, Uncle Darrin came back for visit. The babies are ALWAYS excited to see their Uncle Darrin; he's like Santa Claus, always bringing presents for the children!
Also, Tia Courtney will be coming by this Thursday and staying until Saturday. Then mommy and babies (and Tia!) will all be headed up to Grandma and Grandpa's house until Thanksgiving. We are sad that Daddy wont be able to come with, but he'll use this time to get back on track and catch up with his schoolwork!
A little about each baby:
Donovan
- is getting his two front teeth on top, but his right one has descended first.
- likes to eat EVERYTHING his mama eats, and loves his Sippy Cup!
- loves to walk now and would rather walk than crawl even though crawling gets him around faster
- still loves to smile and laughs easily
Olivia
- is getting her two front teeth on top, but her left one has descended first
- still prefers to be nursed instead of taking a bottle (even at 2AM), but still likes her Sippy Cup
- sees her brother walk and tries to copy him
- loves dogs; anytime she sees one, she will make a barking noise to get their attention!
- is a very happy baby; still loves to laugh, squeal, and smile all the time

Accidents Happen.
We were rear-ended while we were sitting at a stoplight. I heard screeching tires, so I looked up in my rearview mirror. I could see a small Honda fishtailing towards us, but because there was oncoming, cross-direction traffic, there was (literally) nothing I could do in the split-second before impact. We were struck on the rear right bumper which sent us flying into the intersection, but (thankfully) not into the traffic.
I threw the car into park and jumped out of the Mountaineer to check on the babies. At the time, I didn't realize that there was a third vehicle involved because my priority was making sure that the twins were safe and unharmed (which they were). All I can say is, Thank God for baby carseats. Little Donny's carseat didn't budge, but Olivia's carseat was turned completely sideways from the impact. I have NO idea how that happened. The policeman at the scene checked the seats out and let me know that the carseats are still in fine, usable condition, so there's no need to purchase new ones. I still think we'll be buying some new ones tomorrow, though.
So, after I got everyone settled, I learned that two teenagers were driving a farm truck that initially struck the vehicle (that was coming to a stop behind us), which in turn struck us, and sent us flying into the intersection. We are waiting on the police report (which is pending), and that should give us a little more insight to what actually happened; or what caused the teenagers to hit the first vehicle. The babies and I were fortunate enough that we didn't have to hang around at the scene, so I didn't get the entire story at the time.
My neck is a little sore from being struck so hard from behind, but I am scheduling an appointment with the doctor to get it checked out tomorrow. The babies also have their 9-month check up tomorrow, so I'll be making sure that Dr. Wood gives them a thorough once-over just to make very, very sure that they are completely ok.

They Believe in Auburn and Love it!

Where Has the Time Gone?!
I seriously cannot believe how fast time flies! It seems like just 5 minutes ago, they were newborns and I was rocking my sweet angels in their rocking chairs (at the same time)!
- They both have TWO teeth! Their front two teeth popped up exactly at the same time, on the exact same weekend! There is no denying they are twins, that's for sure!
-They both snort when they giggle! I swear to God, it is THE cutest thing you will ever see in your life.
-They are actually eating solid (sort-of) foods now. They like to eat melty yogurt discs and puffed veggie/fruit snacks. (Basically, these treats melt in their mouths after two or three chews.)
- They also love drinking a little water from their sippy cups after being outside in the hot weather. (And will even drink out of Mama and Daddy's cups, too!)
DONNY:
- likes to bite EVERYTHING. Other people's fingers and his Mama's ankles are among his favorites.
- can crawl at the speed of light. I'm really not kidding; one minute he's in the living room. The next, he's down the hallway in either his bedroom, the bathroom or the laundry room. (Yikes.)
- has been a little bit fussy lately, which is a change from his usual happy self. I think it's because he's trying to cut some more teeth.
LIVY:
- isn't much of a biter, but she will bite your clothing on occasion. (For example, if you are holding her on your shoulder and patting her back, she'll bite your shirt. Who knows why?)
- has finally mastered crawling! Although she isn't quite as speedy as her brother, she knows how to get around and will scream (loudly) if you pick her up and turn her in the opposite direction. (Not that we've done that or anything...)
- has also been a bit of a fussy-britches lately. Again, I think this is because of the teeth issue. At least, I hope. I hope.
The babies have their 9 month check-up coming very soon, so we'll see how much they weigh. I'm betting it's some where around 19lbs for Donny, and closer to 16-17 for Olivia.
Some exciting things have happened this past month:
The babies had their first visit to the pool. They LOVED it!
Uncle Darrin visited us, too! We ♥ our Uncle Darrin!
And one final thing: Grandma visited us this past weekend! We all went to the Alabama State Fair and had a great time seeing the animals and watching folks ride rides and play games!
Oh, also, they babies have begun transitioning from three naps a day down to two. (Their mama is NOT pleased.) For instance, this morning, the babies went down for their first nap at about 9:40AM, when they usually go down at about 8:15.
::sigh::
But other than that, we've just been chugging along!

7 Months Old!
Here are some interesting facts about us:
Donny
- is crawling and can even pull himself up to standing!
- likes pretty much all (babyfood) fruits; especially loves sucking on cantaloupe!
- hates pretty much all babyfood veggies
- smiles easily and often
- has a very healthy appetite (can drink 6 oz. of milk after eating his fruits/veggies/cereal)
- is almost outgrowing his 6-9 months clothes
- is (still) very much a Mama's Boy (and that's ok by Mama!)
Liv
- cannot yet crawl, but is VERY vocal (she can say Mamamamama!)
- likes pretty much any kind of (baby)food, but LOVES corn on the cob and cantaloupe the best
- always smiles at everyone, and even does this face where she crinkles her nose and breaths heavy, kind of like a snorting bull. (It is ABSOLUTELY adorable!)
- still has a dainty appetite (will drink usually no more than 4 oz. in a sitting), but loves to try to feed herself with the spoon
- can still fit into all of her 3-6 months clothes
- gets told she looks just like her mama all the time
- is a little more independent that her brother, but is still Mama's Girl
Their personalities are very much developed now, and it seems that Olivia is going to be the joker; the rascal. Donovan, we think, will be more of the quiet one.

Creepy Crawlers!
The babies have started eating baby food now and Little Donny is even crawling! Well, kind of... its more of a creep/crawl. He will wiggle a few inches, and then he'll crawl a few more, and then he'll get back down on his tummy and wiggle again. It really is precious.
As far as the food goes, the babies' first food was ... mango! They've sucked on other foods (such as cantaloupe [which they LOVE, by the way], corn and peaches) but mango was their first real pureed food. A few days later, they had green beans (to which Drama Queen Baby Donny made himself gag on and eventually vomit back up), but Liv didn't seem to have an opinion on them; she just ate them. She didn't make an ucky face, but she didn't really ask for more either.
In a few days, the babies will be 7 months old and we're going to get their 6-month photos taken a little late (due to the photographer's schedule).
Stay tuned! :)

6-Month Checkup at 5.5 months!
Anyway, Baby Donny is 16.4lbs and 25 inches long! Livy is 14.4lbs and 24 inches long! Dr. Wood says they are both "perfect", and doing great. He even mentioned that Baby Donny is "a fine boy!", and Livy looks "just beautiful"! The twins got one shot each, and both did fantastic! Livy cried just a little bit and wouldn't even look at the nurse afterwards. Everytime the nurse tried to look at Liv, Liv would turn her head and stick out her boo-boo lip! It was actually pretty cute. Baby Donny, on the other hand, just wimpered and then started smiling at the nurse afterwards! He's such a flirt! I'm really going to have my hands full when he hits puberty! ::hand onforehead, fainting::
We have to cut this entry short, as we've hit the tail-end of naptime and I hear my special boy calling out to me right now...
